Robbery at the Quad Cafe
The Observer has received word that the Quad Cafe was robbed during a fire alarm earlier today. The Quad is now closed off to students, but Hack Attack is reporting, with its usual drama, that the Quad “looks like Basra.”
No further word on the haul or if there are any suspects – or indeed if a student is suspected of having carried out the daring raid. If you have any info, or were in the building when the fire alarm went off, send us a tip!

Scalia is just Popping By
We are privileged here at the LSE to attract illustrious and noteworthy intellectuals, public figures and influential characters. A lot of the people who come for the average event at the LSE would be the highlight of the term at some other schools, and sometimes these big time speakers even show up to half-empty lecture halls because they are competing for attention with another, even bigger time speaker.
This morning the Observer received a rather casual invitation to what would, at plenty of other places, be the most highly promoted event of the year. If you’re free tomorrow at 2pm you can RSVP to attend a Q&A with Antonin Scalia, a Justice of the American Supreme Court and grill him over his position on the death penalty or the proper amount of tension between states rights and federal authority as addressed in the interstate commerce clause of the constitution.
But, you know, whatever, I mean, if you don’t have time I’m sure you can catch him next time he comes by.
When, Where: Wednesday at 2pm in the Shaw Library. Email conferences@lse.ac.uk to RSVP.
